PROJECT "Children's rights" - the fifth classes

Our Comprehensive School " G. and C. Robecchi of Gambolò" on the twentieth anniversary of
UN Convention on Rights of the Child " ,


decided to provide every student of fifth class of complexes of Remondo , Gambolò Tromello and a copy of the book

" Do not step on our rights - Writers and illustrators of children's rights .



This book provides a unique opportunity to read good stories, learn about children's rights and support UNICEF.

The book is a collaboration of ten writers and ten illustrators for boys who wanted to dedicate their contributions to the rights issue on the twentieth anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of 's adolescence.

Ten ten stories and illustrations, with an addendum signed by White Pitzorno , Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF Italy, which could not fail to teach children the rights of the Convention in a simple manner.
The preface of Mrs. Clio Napolitano , is an important invitation to reflection and action to help those in need because " you are never too young or too old ."


Choice supportive of the authors of the book, and generations of other solidarity because the proceeds will be donated to the project "Schools for Africa " which features the ' UNICEF and the Nelson Mandela Foundation at the forefront in the fight against' illiteracy and the low quality of education in Africa. The project will reach over 4 million children in 11 African countries.

This text is the arrival of a long process started since 1923 with the first declaration on children's rights (the "Geneva Declaration") adopted by the League of Nations (the old name of the UN) in 1924.

Then a new and a bit 'fuller statement was approved in 1959 by the United Nations United and finally, after 10 years of study and debate, was the definitive text of the Convention is adopted, November 20, 1989 by the UN General Assembly.

The Convention entered into force in 1990 (after it has been ratified in 20 countries), and finally became law Italian State May 27, 1991.
It 's the most international treaty approved in the world. E 'was signed by all the countries of the world except four: Cook Islands, Oman, Somalia and United Arab Emirates. In addition to these, only two other states have signed but not ratified, and Switzerland and the United States of America.
